INTERVIEWER: Has anybody ever, in one’s career management, said “You know what? You’re a really talented actress and when you talk about [being a pro-choice advocate], that doesn’t serve your acting.”
FELICITY: Yes, this a hot button issue and I’ve had friends, celebrities, actors come up and say, “I am pro-choice, I do support it, but I can’t be seen being a part of it because it’s too scary.” And I have to say it’s because the opposition to it is very vocal and there’s a fringe element that is violent. I went to an event 6 months ago and a woman’s husband, who offered help to women who wanted to end a pregnancy, was shot in a church. So it’s scary and I guess it could be detrimental to your career but I love this country and I love that we can choose differently and I want to stand up and say, “It’s okay.” [x]
